Let us TWINtroduce ourselves

We ( Amy and Ian ) teamed up in 2018 to create TWIN-Associates but have been working together since 2004. Both of our careers started at the BBC where we met, our work, then at Red Bee, included a diverse range of global projects across EMEA, APAC and NA. This broadcast experience means we know how to create brands that ‘move’ -both physically and emotionally; helping them to thrive across all platforms and tell captivating stories fit for a digital, screen-based world.

Why TWIN-Associates?

The importance of a unique identity

Well, we’re both twins, Ian identical, Amy fraternal.

Being twins we know that when you walk, talk and look like someone else, forging a unique identity for yourself is hugely important and can help you to better connect with the world around you. This goes for businesses as much as it does for awkward teenagers.

TWINtuition

We believe great things come from collaboration and both being twins we know a thing or two about the power of working together.

As twins our sense of empathy runs deep which means we have an understanding of others and their needs. We thrive on closeness and sharing comes naturally to us. We feel comfortable and confident fitting right into your team and working closely alongside you whilst also seeing things clearly from the outside.

Ian

“More of a listener than a talker I like to get to the very essence of the challenge our clients are facing to tease out a solution.”

Founding TWIN-Associates has meant that the client relationship building Ian always thrived on could be nurtured and expanded. Having always worked across diverse regions he understands the particular sensibilities and needs of global clients and their unique audiences.

Graduating with an MA, from the Royal College of Art, Ian worked as a freelance print designer before joining the BBC, where he gained the knowledge and understanding of a live broadcast environment, an education that has remained invaluable throughout his career.

Following a short period at the ABC in Sydney he returned to London promptly creating the award winning design work for the BBC’s landmark documentary series Peoples Century. Always looking for a new challenge Ian was instrumental in the commercial expansion of the BBC’s creative team taking on its inaugural project with Al Jazeera in Qatar, an experience from which he has never looked back.

When not getting excited about a new project he can be found pretending to be a carpenter in his wood shed, riding a bike slowly, trying to fly a kite that is too big, or training an energetic and mischievous Cockapoo, a long term project!

Amy

“My super power is generating ideas, fast, but effectively. I love the challenge of having to solve a problem and finding a range of solutions to offer”

Amy co-founded TWIN-Associates not only to allow her to work across a broad range of brands that interest her, regardless of sector or global region, but as a positive, people-person, to importantly work closely with the people that know their brands best, to get the very best results.

In her former large agency life highlights include the launch of the TV channel Dave, conceiving the bespoke typeface for 13th Street's refresh, branding a FinTech start up and launching a refreshed identity for NBCUniversal's Telemundo, the leading Spanish language channel in the US.

As one half of TWIN-Associates Amy has led the branding of a stand out Real Estate start up, helped a local council highlight knife crime to parents of school-aged children and consulted with the BBC for over 4 years, being fundamental in the retooling of their broadcast system.

When away from TWIN-Associates  Amy gets her creative fix doing DIY, gardening and building lego with her son.
